Key Responsibilities and Impact

The core of this role involves a deep dive into existing IT Service Management processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing innovative solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Process Engineering and Optimization: Leading comprehensive evaluations of current state processes across various IT functions, with a specific focus on ITSM. You will be tasked with identifying bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Operations Optimization and Business Process Improvement: Spearheading initiatives to optimize overall IT operations, translating business needs into actionable process improvements. This involves a holistic approach to enhancing service delivery and operational excellence.
  • Solution Design and Specification: Specifying detailed software system requirements to design and implement improved solutions, particularly within the ServiceNow ecosystem. This includes defining functional and non-functional requirements for process enhancements.
  • Leading Transformation Initiatives: Taking charge of process transformation initiatives within large, complex organizations. This requires a proven track record of successfully guiding teams through change, ensuring adoption, and measuring impact.
  • Workflow and Metrics Management: Utilizing expertise in operational metrics and workflow optimization to establish baselines, track performance, and demonstrate the value of implemented changes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, development, and business stakeholders, to ensure seamless integration of new processes and solutions.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess a robust blend of technical acumen, process expertise, and strong interpersonal skills:

  • Process Engineering Acumen: Demonstrated proficiency in process engineering methodologies, operations optimization, and business process improvement frameworks.
  • Certifications: A Six Sigma Black Belt certification is highly desirable, indicating a deep understanding of process improvement principles and statistical analysis. Lean certification is also a significant advantage, showcasing expertise in eliminating waste and improving flow.
  • Tool Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in process modeling tools such as Microsoft Visio or similar applications, enabling effective visualization and documentation of processes.
  • Leadership and Experience: A proven track record of successfully leading and implementing process transformation initiatives within large-scale organizations. Experience in regulated or government environments is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of compliance and stringent operational requirements.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong capabilities in analyzing operational metrics, identifying trends, and making data-driven decisions to optimize workflows.
  • Automation and Low-Code Familiarity: Familiarity with process automation tools and low-code platforms, understanding how these technologies can accelerate process improvements and digital transformation.
  • Communication and Facilitation: Exceptional facilitation skills to lead workshops, gather requirements, and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for articulating complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to manage expectations, build relationships, and influence stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
