Overview: SharePoint and Power BI Developer

We are actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced SharePoint and Power BI Developer for a high-priority, long-term contract opportunity. This role is primarily remote, with an expectation of occasional travel to Waukegan, IL, once per quarter. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in both SharePoint development and Power BI solutions, demonstrating proficiency across the full stack of technologies associated with these platforms. You will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining critical business intelligence and collaboration tools, working within a dynamic and globally distributed team environment. This position requires a professional with excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with management and executive stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement custom SharePoint solutions, including web parts, workflows, and integrations, utilizing Node.js, TypeScript, PnP, and VS Code.
  • Develop and maintain robust Power BI reports and dashboards, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and insightful visualization.
  • Utilize SQL for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to support Power BI initiatives.
  • Apply advanced Power Query and DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) skills to create complex data models and calculations within Power BI.
  • Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Manage code repositories and collaborate on development projects using GitHub and Azure DevOps.
  • Work within an Agile development environment, utilizing tools like Jira and ServiceNow for task management and issue tracking.
  • Ensure the security and performance of SharePoint and Power BI environments.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for existing SharePoint and Power BI applications.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for development and deployment.
  • Coordinate effectively with globally distributed teams located in regions such as China, the Philippines, and India, ensuring seamless project execution and communication across different time zones.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of SharePoint, Power BI, and related Microsoft technologies, recommending and implementing improvements as appropriate.
  • Prepare and present technical documentation, user manuals, and training materials.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience as a SharePoint and Power BI Developer.
  • SharePoint Stack Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Node.js, TypeScript, PnP (Patterns and Practices), Power Apps, VS Code, and Azure DevOps for SharePoint development.
  • Power BI Stack Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL, Power Query, DAX, and advanced Data Modeling techniques within Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement scalable and efficient data solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including management and executive settings.
  • Experience working with and coordinating projects across globally distributed teams, particularly in regions like China, the Philippines, and India.
  • Proficiency with development and project management tools including GitHub, Visual Studio 2017 (or later), Jira, and ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, contract-based environment.
  • Must be available for occasional travel to Waukegan, IL, once per quarter.
  • This is a C2C (Corp-to-Corp) contract position, and only candidates eligible for C2C engagement, specifically TN Visa holders, will be considered.

Contract Details:
