Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data engineering principles, with extensive experience in PySpark, Spark, and Databricks. This role requires a deep understanding of AWS cloud services and the ability to design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines. You will be instrumental in transforming raw data into actionable insights, supporting critical business decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines using PySpark and Spark on AWS.
- Leverage Databricks, including Delta Lake and notebooks, for efficient data processing and analysis.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and ensure efficient data modeling practices.
- Perform data pipeline performance tuning to ensure optimal speed and reliability.
- Utilize various AWS services for data storage, processing, and analytics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and cloud computing.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong experience in PySpark / Spark.
- Expertise in Databricks (including Delta Lake and notebooks).
- Solid understanding of SQL and data modeling.
- Proven experience in building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Proficiency in AWS Cloud services relevant to data engineering (e.g., S3, Glue, EMR, Redshift).
- Experience with data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Experience:
- 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field.
Work Environment:
- This position requires 5 days onsite in Wilmington, DE.
