Job Opportunity: Lead AWS Data Engineer with DynamoDB Expertise
Quantum World Technologies Inc. is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead AWS Data Engineer for a critical, onsite role in Miami, FL. This is a contract position with a client that requires immediate attention, aiming to fill the role within the next week. The ideal candidate will possess over 12 years of hands-on data engineering experience, with a strong focus on building robust production data pipelines and leveraging the AWS ecosystem, particularly DynamoDB.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of scalable and efficient data pipelines using AWS services.
- Develop and maintain ETL processes, leveraging Python (PySpark) for data processing and automation.
- Utilize AWS Glue extensively for job development, crawler management, trigger configuration, and workflow orchestration.
- Architect and optimize DynamoDB data models, manage capacity planning, implement streams, and ensure peak performance.
- Implement and manage data solutions within the broader AWS ecosystem, including S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, and Kinesis.
- Develop and test APIs using Postman, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
- Apply strong SQL skills and a deep understanding of data warehousing principles to manage and analyze data effectively.
- Implement and manage version control using Git, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform for infrastructure as code.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on data engineering projects.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 12+ years of progressive data engineering experience.
- Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade data pipelines.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python, including extensive experience with PySpark for data processing and ETL.
- Deep expertise in AWS Glue, including job development, crawlers, triggers, and workflow orchestration.
- Strong, hands-on experience with DynamoDB, including data modeling, capacity planning, streams, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with core AWS services such as S3, Lambda, Step Functions, CloudWatch, IAM, KMS, and Kinesis.
- Proficiency in using Postman for API development and testing.
- Advanced SQL skills and a comprehensive understanding of data warehousing concepts.
- Experience with Git for version control.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices, and experience with infrastructure as code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Miami, FL.
