Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Solution Architect with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (F&SCM) and Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) to join a transformative project for a leading grain trading company. This role involves architecting the complete technical solution, integrating D365 with CTRM, and designing integrations for over 15 external systems. You will lead a cross-functional team to modernize a significant grain trading operation, valued at over $500 million. This is a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge Microsoft technology within a fascinating industry vertical at an enterprise scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture for the D365 F&SCM + CTRM platform.
- Design the complete technical architecture, encompassing Infrastructure, Integration, Application, and Presentation layers.
- Develop the integration strategy for more than 15 external systems, including weighbridges, lab equipment, rail EDI, market data feeds, and trading platforms.
- Create comprehensive solution design documents (HLD, LLD) and architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Architect for performance and scalability, addressing requirements for over 2,500 scale tickets per hour.
- Design the security architecture, covering users, Azure AD SSO, RBAC, and data encryption.
- Present technical solutions and strategies to steering committees and C-suite executives.
- Mentor the offshore technical team and conduct thorough code reviews.
- Manage and mitigate technical risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Expertise (NON-NEGOTIABLE):
- 15+ years of experience implementing enterprise ERP systems.
- 5+ full lifecycle D365 Finance & Supply Chain implementations.
- Deep expertise in D365 Finance, including GL, AP, AR, Cost Accounting (WAC critical), and Financial Reporting.
- In-depth knowledge of D365 SCM modules such as WMS, TMS, Production Control, Quality Management, and Inventory Management.
- Proficiency in the Power Platform: Power Apps (Canvas/Model-driven), Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
- Strong Azure Cloud skills, including Logic Apps, API Management, Service Bus, Data Factory, Synapse, and DevOps.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in enterprise integration architecture, including APIs, EDI, and event-driven patterns.
- Experience in creating solution design documentation (HLD, LLD, architecture diagrams).
- Proven ability in performance optimization and scalability design.
- Strong understanding of Azure security principles (Azure AD, RBAC, Key Vault, encryption).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Soft Skills:
- Executive presence with the ability to present to C-suite and board members.
- Strong team leadership capabilities, including mentoring developers and leading technical workstreams.
- Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter, strategic thinker, and effective problem-solver.
Preferred Qualifications (Strong Plus)
- Grain/Commodity Trading Experience:
- Prior experience working within grain trading companies (e.g., ADM, Cargill, Bunge, CHS, cooperatives).
- Understanding of CBOT futures, basis trading, and hedging strategies.
- Familiarity with grain elevator operations, rail logistics, and vessel charters.
- Knowledge of commodity accounting concepts, including Mark-to-Market, dual-book accounting, and hedge accounting.
- Experience with CTRM platforms such as DycoTrade, Agiblocks, Amphora, Allegro, Openlink, RightAngle, or Levridge.
Certifications
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Consultant Associate (MB-310)
- Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management Functional Consultant Associate (MB-330)
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- TOGAF or Zachman Enterprise Architecture certification
- PMP or Scrum Master (CSM/PSM)
