Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated ServiceNow ITAM (IT Asset Management) Architect to join our team. This is a remote contract position where you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and ongoing governance of comprehensive IT Asset Management solutions built on the ServiceNow platform. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Hardware Asset Management (HAM), Software Asset Management (SAM), Configuration Management Database (CMDB) principles, and enterprise-level integrations. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our IT assets are managed efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Architecture & Design: Design and architect scalable, robust ITAM solutions that align with the overall enterprise IT strategy and business objectives. Lead the successful implementation of both Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro) modules within the ServiceNow environment. Define and refine asset lifecycle management processes, encompassing procurement, deployment, maintenance, and retirement phases. Architect and oversee the implementation of CMDB integrations to guarantee data accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all IT assets.
- IT Asset Management Implementation: Ensure the effective governance of the entire asset lifecycle, including meticulous contract management and vendor tracking. Implement best practices for asset discovery, reconciliation, and normalization.
- Integrations & Automation: Design and implement seamless integrations with critical business systems such as procurement platforms, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and various IT discovery tools. Leverage ServiceNow’s capabilities, including REST/SOAP APIs, IntegrationHub, and Flow Designer, to build efficient and automated workflows. Automate routine asset-related workflows, approval processes, and data enrichment tasks to improve operational efficiency.
- Governance & Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to software license agreements and actively work to reduce software overspending through effective license management and optimization. Define clear policies and procedures for asset tracking, audit readiness, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Establish comprehensive reporting dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor asset performance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Management: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all ITAM solutions on the ServiceNow platform, providing technical leadership and guidance. Foster strong collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams, including IT operations, procurement, finance, and vendor management. Lead design workshops, facilitate requirements gathering sessions, and mentor junior ServiceNow developers and administrators.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 8+ years of overall professional experience in Information Technology.
- At least 5+ years of hands-on experience specifically with the ServiceNow platform, demonstrating deep technical proficiency.
- Strong, proven expertise in ServiceNow ITAM modules, including Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM Pro).
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, and managing the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), including data modeling and discovery processes.
- Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting, including JavaScript, Glide API, and other relevant server-side and client-side scripting techniques.
- Experience in designing and implementing integrations using REST and SOAP APIs.
- Solid understanding of the IT asset lifecycle management processes and software license compliance principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
