Job Overview:
Nitya Software Solutions is seeking a highly experienced QA Engineer, QA Lead, or Quality Engineering Lead for a hybrid role in McLean, VA. This position requires a deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC), with a strong emphasis on automation and leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading QA teams, designing test strategies, and implementing robust testing frameworks across various domains. This is a contract position with a focus on immediate joiners, demanding a proactive approach to quality assurance and a commitment to delivering high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor QA teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and project timelines.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for complex enterprise applications.
- Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks using Java, Python, or JavaScript for UI, API, and backend testing.
- Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and integration.
- Conduct performance testing using tools like JMeter to ensure application scalability and reliability.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and architects, to identify and resolve defects.
- Manage large-scale enterprise projects, ensuring quality throughout the development lifecycle.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in QA, automation, and DevOps.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and implement preventive measures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 15+ years of experience in QA/Testing with a strong automation background.
- Proficiency in at least two programming languages: Java, Python, or JavaScript.
- Deep understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile, DevOps practices, test architecture, and framework design.
- Strong experience in UI automation, API automation, backend and database testing, CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and performance testing (JMeter).
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (PMs, Developers, Architects).
- Proven ability to lead distributed QA teams and manage large-scale enterprise projects.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Understanding of AI/ML testing concepts.
- Exposure to robotics process automation (RPA) tools.
- Experience implementing test coverage and code quality tools (SonarQube, Allure Reports).

- This is a hybrid role requiring presence in McLean, VA.
