Job Title: Scrum Master (BFSI Domain)
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Scrum Master to join our team, focusing on the Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) domain. This is an onsite contract position located in Mount Laurel, NJ. The ideal candidate will be a servant leader with a strong understanding of Agile frameworks and a proven track record of facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, and coaching teams towards continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives, ensuring they are productive and time-boxed.
- Act as a servant leader, actively removing impediments and obstacles that hinder the team’s progress and ensuring the team meets its sprint goals.
- Coach and mentor development teams on Agile/Scrum best practices, principles, and values, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to ensure the product backlog is well-defined, prioritized, and ready for upcoming sprints.
- Track and report on key Agile metrics, such as team velocity, burndown/burnup charts, and sprint health, to provide visibility into team performance.
- Identify and manage project risks, dependencies, and blockers, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by facilitating effective retrospectives and translating insights into actionable plans.
- Coordinate effectively with multiple teams and stakeholders in a scaled Agile environment to ensure alignment and successful delivery.
- Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and governance standards, with a specific focus on the BFSI sector.
- Support release planning activities and facilitate cross-team alignment to ensure smooth product releases.
- Foster strong collaboration between onshore and offshore teams, as well as with client stakeholders.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven, hands-on experience as a Scrum Master in dynamic Agile environments.
- Solid understanding of Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum and Kanban. Experience with SAFe is a plus.
- Proficiency with Agile project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and Azure DevOps.
- Expertise in facilitating Scrum events, removing impediments, and coaching teams.
- Demonstrated ability in tracking Agile progress and metrics, and supporting Product Owners.
- Strong stakeholder management and excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work effectively with distributed (onshore/offshore) teams.
- Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
- Experience in BFSI or other regulated environments is highly preferred.
