Job Title: Cognos Developer (Framework Manager exp)

We are seeking an experienced Cognos Developer with strong expertise in Framework Manager to join our client’s team for a remote contract position.

Responsibilities:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics / Cognos BI.
  • Strong expertise in Framework Manager, including modeling, relationships, determinants, and calculations.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in complex joins, subqueries, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Teradata.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, star/snowflake schemas).
  • Experience with report performance tuning and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cognos Administration (security, scheduling, deployments).
  • Exposure to ETL tools or data integration platforms.
  • Experience in healthcare, insurance, finance, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with other BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) is a plus.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $50 – $70 per year
