Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Python Data Engineer with strong experience in Palantir Foundry to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, building and managing Palantir Ontologies, and ensuring data quality and reliability. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data governance. You will collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and support analytics and downstream use cases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Workbooks).
  • Build and manage Palantir Ontologies (Object Types, Link Types, Properties) to enable semantic and business-friendly data access.
  • Ingest, transform, validate, and enrich data from multiple enterprise and external sources.
  • Implement scalable data transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
  • Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, reliability, and performance across pipelines.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and platform teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Support analytics, operational dashboards, and downstream AIML use cases.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Foundry assets and pipelines.
  • Contribute to Agile delivery, documentation, and knowledge sharing.

Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years of overall experience in data engineering or data-intensive application development.
  • Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including ontology modeling and pipeline development.
  • Strong programming skills in Python with solid experience in SQL and PySpark.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data governance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred/Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with Palantir AIP and AIML-enabled use cases.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript for Foundry applications.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Palantir Foundry certification.
  • Prior experience in utilities, energy, public sector, or large regulated enterprises.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $145,600 – $166,400 per year (Estimated)

Location: Rosemead, CA
