Job Description: Data Modeler
We are seeking an experienced Data Modeler with a strong background in the mortgage domain or MISMO standards to join our team. This is an onsite contract position located in either Westlake, CA, or Carrollton, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
- Build and optimize data models for Snowflake data warehouse environments.
- Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and analysis.
- Work with semi-structured data (JSON) for ingestion, parsing, and transformation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
- Implement best practices for data modeling, naming conventions, and documentation.
- Optimize data structures to improve performance, scalability, and data accessibility.
- Maintain data documentation, lineage, and metadata for enterprise datasets.
- Ensure candidates have hands-on experience in data privacy operations, software development, and cloud-based systems.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in data modeling and database design.
- Strong expertise in SQL and relational database concepts.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
- Experience working with JSON scripting and semi-structured data.
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Owners.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in the mortgage domain or with MISMO standards is highly preferred.
