Job Description:
The role is for a Data Engineer with a strong data engineering background, focusing on ETL/ELT concepts and Palantir Foundry. The position requires designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using Palantir Foundry (Pipeline Builder, Code Workbooks). The engineer will build and manage Palantir Ontologies (Object Types, Link Types, Properties) to enable semantic and business-friendly data access. Responsibilities include ingesting, transforming, validating, and enriching data from multiple enterprise and external sources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement scalable data transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, reliability, and performance across pipelines.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and platform teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Support analytics, operational dashboards, and downstream AIML use cases.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize existing Foundry assets and pipelines.
- Contribute to Agile delivery, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 12+ years of overall experience, with strong Palantir Foundry experience.
- 5-10 years of experience in data engineering or data-intensive application development.
- Hands-on experience with Palantir Foundry, including ontology modeling and pipeline development.
- Strong programming skills in Python with solid experience in SQL and PySpark.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT concepts, and data governance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must have technical/functional skills in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines using Palantir Foundry.
- Must have experience building and managing Palantir Ontologies.
- Must have experience ingesting, transforming, validating, and enriching data.
- Must have experience implementing scalable data transformations using Python, PySpark, and SQL.
- Must ensure data quality, lineage, governance, reliability, and performance.
- Must collaborate with business stakeholders, data scientists, and platform teams.

Preferred/Nice-to-Have Experience:
- Experience with Palantir AIP and AIML-enabled use cases.
- Knowledge of TypeScript/JavaScript for Foundry applications.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Palantir Foundry certification.
- Prior experience in utilities, energy, public sector, or large regulated enterprises.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $80,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
Location: Rosemead, CA
