Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced Data Architect with a strong background in the Health Care Payer Domain for a Hybrid role in Philadelphia, PA. This position requires local candidates and is open to individuals with specific visa types (h1, H4, US c Visa). The ideal candidate will be an independent thought leader with expertise in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient data systems to support healthcare analytics and data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement integrated, scalable, efficient, and secure data systems for storing and processing data to support healthcare analytics and data-driven decision-making.
- Design and implement scalable, flexible, and secure interoperability solutions aligned to USCDI-US Core compliance.
- Develop and maintain data models (logical, physical, and conceptual) that support healthcare-specific requirements (Clinical, Claims, Member, Provider, EHR, etc.) and other data architecture artifacts.
- Evaluate and recommend data management technologies, platforms, frameworks, and methodologies that optimize data collection and integration for healthcare applications.
- Oversee the implementation of data governance policies to ensure data integrity, quality, security, and compliance with relevant healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) to protect sensitive patient information.
- Ensure data architecture complies with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, and other privacy laws.
- Collaborate with Business data analysts, data scientists, IT Professionals, and business leaders to understand their data needs and ensure architecture supports organizational goals.
- Optimize data storage solutions, reducing latency and ensuring quick access to real-time and historical data.
- Help establish and enforce data governance frameworks, ensuring data consistency, quality, and standardization across systems.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies in healthcare data management and propose innovative solutions.
- Provide training and guidance to other team members.
Experience & Skills:
- Expertise in Data Architecture, databases, and cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, CCDs, HIE, USCDI-US Core, etc.).
- Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, PySpark, and Python.
- Experience with data modeling tools like Erwin.
- Experience with integration tools like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Kafka, IBM Datastage, Informatica, etc.
- Understanding of business intelligence (BI) and analytics platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, preferably in the healthcare industry.
- 5+ years of experience with managing large-scale data systems in healthcare.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing interoperability solutions in healthcare.
- 5+ years of experience in solutioning cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
- Experience with major EHR systems like Epic, Cerner is a plus.

Compensation & Location
