Job Title: SAP ABAP Developer

We are looking for a skilled SAP ABAP Developer with strong hands-on experience, preferably with ABAP OO, to join our remote team. This is a contract position with flexible employment options including C2C, W2, and 1099.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong hands-on experience in SAP ABAP (ABAP OO preferred).
  • Proven experience with SAP Gateway and OData Service development.
  • Good understanding of HTTP, REST, JSON, XML, and SAP integration concepts.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and enhance SAP ABAP programs, including Reports, Interfaces, Enhancements, Forms, and Conversions (RICEF objects).
  • Develop and maintain OData services using SAP Gateway (SEGW).
  • Implement and support REST-based integrations between SAP and external systems.
  • Handle Gateway service registration, activation, and troubleshooting.
  • Perform debugging, performance tuning, and issue resolution across ABAP and Gateway layers.
  • Ensure secure and efficient data access using authorization objects and best practices.
  • Support testing activities, including unit testing and defect fixes.
  • Work closely with functional and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.

Preferred Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of CDS Views and AMDP.
  • Experience with performance optimization and SAP security concepts.
  • Prior experience working in airline or large enterprise environments is preferred.

Technical Skills:

  • SAP Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) for HANA
  • IBM WebSphere Partner Gateway (WPG) – nice to have

Compensation & Location

Salary: $80,000 – $160,000 per year
