Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager to lead full lifecycle Workday implementation projects. This role requires a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget in a matrix environment. You will be responsible for planning, designing, building, testing, deploying, and providing hypercare support for Workday implementations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full lifecycle Workday implementation projects (plan, design, build, test, deploy, hypercare).
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Drive day-to-day project execution, including issue/risk management, dependency tracking, and scope control.
  • Coordinate work across functional streams (e.g., HCM, Payroll, Time, Absence, Benefits, Finance, Integrations, Reporting).
  • Facilitate project governance: steering committees, status meetings, decision logs, RAID logs, and change requests.
  • Collaborate with HR/Finance/IT business owners to capture requirements and ensure Workday configuration meets business needs.
  • Coordinate cutover and go-live activities, including runbooks, communication, and support model handoff.
  • Support change management activities in partnership with HR/Change teams (communications, training, user adoption).

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management experience.
  • 2-3 years managing Workday implementations (HCM and/or Finance, or major module such as Payroll, Time, Absence, Talent, or Compensation).
  • Proven track record delivering projects on time and on budget in a matrix environment.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (waterfall, hybrid, or agile) and standard artifacts.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills, including with executive sponsors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Prince2, Agile or similar project management certification.
  • Experience in Retail.
  • Experience with PMO tools (e.g., Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, Planview).

Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $140,000 per year

Location: San Ramon, CA
