Job Overview:

The State of Michigan is seeking two Software Solution Architects with Rhapsody Developer expertise to support and implement a methodology for the MDHHS Health Services ESB. This role is crucial for tracking message transmissions, providing services for systems connecting to the Data Hub, and supporting the MDHHS Enterprise ISA technical team. The resource will work under the direction of DTMB Customer Services, MDHHS, and DTMB cross-matrix teams to enhance, integrate, maintain, and implement projects. This position also involves providing application oversight to business analysts and other teams integrating with the Health Enterprise Service Bus (HESB). A System Administrator is essential to prevent delays in ongoing and future project work and to ensure DTMB’s ability to deliver prioritized enhancements and maintenance from HESB to major applications like MDSS, EDRS, myHB/myHP, MCIR, MiHIN, and MPHI.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop solutions for new use cases.
  • Develop Interfaces based on business requirements and specifications.
  • Create technical requirements and system designs based on business requirements.
  • Develop custom filters using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK).
  • Create mappers and mapper definitions using EDI message designer.
  • Write JavaScript code within Rhapsody using JavaScript (v1) and JavaScript (v2) filters.
  • Develop API calls for SOAP, REST, and web service calls.
  • Perform data format translations from HL7v2, HL7 V3, FHIR, CCDA, XML, JSON, and flat files as required.
  • Work on CDA mapping and conversions.
  • Prepare code review SUITE SDLC documents.
  • Develop database connections for MSSQL or Oracle databases.
  • Develop TCP, HTTP, LLP, and OAUTH connections according to standards.
  • Oversee overall system design.
  • Oversee overall code and configuration.

Required Technical and Healthcare IT Skills:

  • JavaScript programming
  • SQL
  • XML
  • HL7 version 2.x messaging
  • HL7 FHIR
  • CDA standards and related document types
  • Healthcare vocabularies: LOINC, SNOMED, RxNorm
  • Health Information Exchange (HIE) technology
  • Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE)
  • Implementing solutions based on Implementation Guides

Desired Rhapsody Skills:

  • Experience with the latest Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x).
  • Experience using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to create custom filters, mappers, etc.
  • Experience with custom message payload translation from one format (e.g., JSON, XML, HL7) to a different format (e.g., proprietary/legacy format).
  • Experience using web services, SOAP, REST, OAUTH, TCP-connections, LLP, etc.
  • Experience using transport encryption/security; TLS, mutual authorization via certificates, etc.

Top Skills & Years of Experience:

  • Several years of experience in each of the following:
  • Using latest Health Rhapsody Integration Engine (7.x)
  • Using Rhapsody Developer Kit (RDK) to create custom filters, mappers, etc.
  • Custom message payload translation from one format (e.g., JSON, XML, HL7) to a different format (e.g., proprietary/legacy format)
  • Experience using web services, SOAP, REST, OAUTH, TCP-connections, LLP, etc.
  • Experience using transport encryption/security; TLS, mutual authorization via certificates, etc.
  • Rhapsody Certification is preferred.

Special Requirements

Visa Constraints: None specified. Screening Steps: Resume review, Cover Sheet, Right to Represent, Hybrid work schedule acknowledgment. Interview Modes: Virtual Interview via MS Teams (video required). Candidates must join from a laptop and be prepared to share their screen. A screenshot photo of the candidate will be required for all interviews. Vendor must be present at the beginning of the virtual interview to validate the candidate. Domain Restrictions: Healthcare. Vendor submissions close on 4/2 at 10 am ET. Late submissions will not be accepted. Withdrawn candidates cannot be replaced. Sub-vendor limit: 1 level deep. Hybrid Work Schedule (Non-Negotiable): No remote-only option. Local and non-local candidates willing to relocate at their own expense are accepted. Position is hybrid, in-office 2 days a week upon start.


Compensation & Location

Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)

Location: Lansing, MI
