Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Data Governance Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in Alation to support data cataloging, lineage, and data quality initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data modeling, SQL, and governance frameworks, along with the ability to drive data quality improvements across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage data cataloging solutions using Alation.
- Develop and maintain data lineage tracking to understand data flow and dependencies.
- Define and enforce data governance policies and standards.
- Collaborate with data stewards and business stakeholders to improve data quality.
- Design and implement data quality rules and monitoring processes.
- Develop reports and dashboards to track data governance and quality metrics.
- Provide training and support to users on data governance tools and processes.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices in data governance and Alation.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years of experience in data governance, data management, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience with Alation data cataloging tool.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, SQL, and database technologies.
- Experience with data quality frameworks and tools.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
