Job Summary
We are seeking a Software Support Engineer with a unique hybrid skillset (Python + DevOps + Security + Change Management) for an onsite role in Alexandria, VA. This role involves supporting software applications post-deployment, ensuring their health, security, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-deployment collaboration with Engineering/DevOps teams
- Post-deployment monitoring (system health, error rates, dependencies, configurations)
- Security and compliance scans
- Incident management and escalation
- Python scripting for automation
- Documentation and process improvement
- Stakeholder reporting
Must-Haves
- Python proficiency (automation, scripting) highly desirable
- DevOps understanding (deployment, monitoring, CI/CD concepts)
- Cyber Security awareness (vulnerability scanning, compliance, misconfigurations)
- Test Lead or Senior Support Engineer background
- Change Management process knowledge
- Post-deployment monitoring and health checks
- Incident management and initial troubleshooting
- Documentation and SOP creation
- Strong communication and stakeholder reporting
Nice-to-Haves
- Monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana)
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
- Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Security scanning tools (Tenable, Qualys, SonarQube)
Special Requirements
Onsite role. Candidates must be local to Alexandria/Northern VA.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $75,000 – $130,000 per year (Estimated)
