Job Description: Mainframe Consultant
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Consultant to join our team for an onsite contract role in Wilmington, DE. The ideal candidate will have 10 to 15+ years of experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code within large corporate environments using IBM-Z/OS Mainframe applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop secure, high-quality production code using COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, and CICS.
- Review and debug code written by other team members.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
- Estimate and plan JIRA stories, and meticulously document all tasks.
- Perform hands-on coding and conduct peer reviews to guarantee application stability, adherence to architecture standards, risk management, security policies, processes, and procedures.
- Work independently with minimal oversight while also being able to collaborate effectively in large, team-oriented environments to achieve organizational goals.
Required Mainframe Skills:
- Experience (10+ years) in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with IBM-Z/OS Mainframe applications.
- Proficiency with the Mainframe development suite, including COBOL, JCL, CICS, MQ, VSAM, and experience with both batch and real-time processes.
- Experience with CICS Main view, REXX, CLIST.
- Proficiency in FTP/NDM/File-Mover, CA-7, IBM Utilities, Intertest, File Aid, TSO/ISPF/SDSF, File Manager, Changeman, and SORT.
- Experience with debug tools like Xpediter.
- Strong Database design and development skills in IMS DB, DB2, DB2 SQL, and Stored Procedures.
- Experience with IBM WebSphere MQ messaging solutions.
- Exposure to distributed technologies such as Java, Kafka, Rest Web Service, and XML.

This is an onsite contract position located in Wilmington, DE. Only local candidates from DE are being considered. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.
