About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Active Directory Infrastructure Engineer with a strong focus on build and engineering activities. This is a remote, C2C contract position requiring 15+ years of experience. You will be instrumental in designing, building, and maintaining our Active Directory infrastructure across multiple environments, ensuring security, performance, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Active Directory infrastructure design, build, and engineering activities across multiple environments.
  • Perform domain controller assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and recommend remediation strategies.
  • Evaluate security risks and implement AD security hardening aligned with enterprise standards.
  • Design and guide Active Directory migration and consolidation strategies (on-prem to on-prem / cloud).
  • Act as a technical advisor to business and application teams for secure AD integration and adoption.
  • Drive domain integration and forest consolidation initiatives, especially during mergers & acquisitions.
  • Partner with application teams to migrate applications into core AD or cloud-based directory services.
  • Implement and maintain baseline security configurations using security scanning and monitoring tools.
  • Investigate and resolve complex AD performance and replication issues.
  • Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and migration runbooks.
  • Participate in AD audits, security reviews, and incident investigations.
  • Provide leadership in small project teams and contribute to enterprise-wide AD strategy.

Required Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in Active Directory Infrastructure Engineering (Build Focus).
  • 8+ years of experience in AD performance tuning, replication, and optimization.
  • Strong experience in domain migration, forest consolidation, and AD integration projects.
  • Proven expertise in security hardening of Active Directory environments.
  • Hands-on experience with domain controller architecture, DNS, and Group Policy design.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale, multi-domain/multi-forest environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server infrastructure and directory services.
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESX / Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, subnets, firewall integration).

Employment Type:

Contract (C2C)

Rate:

$55/hr on C2C


Compensation & Location

Salary: $106,080 – $114,400 per year (Estimated)
