Job Description: Oracle Kubernetes Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Oracle Kubernetes Engineer for a contract opportunity. This role prefers candidates to work from the Milwaukee, WI office but is open to remote candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) environment in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
  • Create, manage, and scale OKE clusters, including node pools and worker nodes.
  • Oversee node pool management, including creation, updating, deletion, and performance monitoring.
  • Manage pods, including creation, updating, deletion, and monitoring of pod performance and logs.
  • Handle deployments, including creation, updating, rolling back deployments, and monitoring deployment performance and logs.
  • Ensure the security and compliance of OKE environments by managing network policies, secrets, and Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC).
  • Perform upgrades and patching of OKE clusters, managing version upgrades and security patches.
  • Integrate OKE with other OCI services such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Registry (OCIR), OCI Monitoring, and Logging services.
  • Utilize OCI console, OCI CLI, Kubernetes CLI, OCI Registry, Prometheus, and Grafana for management and monitoring.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience managing and maintaining Oracle Kubernetes Engine (OKE) in OCI.
  • Strong understanding of Kubernetes cluster management, node pools, and worker nodes.
  • Experience with pod and deployment management within Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including network policies, secrets, and RBAC.
  • Familiarity with OCI services and integration points.
  • Proficiency with OCI console, OCI CLI, Kubernetes CLI, OCIR, Prometheus, and Grafana.
  • Experience with access management concepts.

Location:

Prefers WFO in MKE, but open to remote.
