Job Summary
We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives end-to-end from concept and business case through launch and post-implementation. The ideal contractor has demonstrated success orchestrating delivery across Product, Engineering, Operations, and external vendors, using pragmatic project management best practices to drive outcomes on time, on budget, and to quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery: Define scope, success criteria, milestones, and acceptance; build integrated plans and manage execution through launch and stabilization.
- Lead cross-functional teams: Align stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, Care, Finance, Legal, and Vendors; drive decisions and remove blockers without formal authority.
- Project planning and governance: Establish stage gates, RAID management, change control, and dependency mapping; maintain living project artifacts (charter, plan, RACI, RAID, comms plan).
- Schedule, budget, and quality: Build and manage detailed schedules and cost tracking; forecast resources; ensure deliverables meet requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Agile/Waterfall delivery: Apply the right approach (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid) for scope, timeline, and compliance; partner with Scrum/Engineering leads as needed.
- Communication and reporting: Provide executive-ready status, metrics, and risk narratives; run structured business reviews and drive crisp decision logs.
- Customer and business impact: Keep customer experience central; quantify benefits and track KPIs/OKRs tied to value realization and performance.
- Vendor and partner management: Coordinate deliverables and SLAs; align internal and external timelines and dependencies.
- Launch readiness: Lead cutover planning, training, support models, and hypercare; conduct post-implementation reviews and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of project management experience delivering complex cross-functional projects end-to-end in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven track record leading initiatives across multiple departments and vendors, influencing without authority, and driving clear outcomes.
- Strong planning and execution skills: scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk/dependency management, and change control.
- Excellent communication skills, including executive-ready status, storytelling with data, and facilitation of decision-making.
- Proficiency with PM tools (e.g., MS Project/Smartsheet, Jira/Confluence, SharePoint) and strong Excel/analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, CSM/SAFe, or equivalent certifications.
- Experience in telecommunications, media, broadband, or large-scale enterprise environments.
- Background in both Agile and Waterfall/hybrid delivery.
- Experience with financial tracking, benefit realization, and OKR/KPI management.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $90 per year (Estimated)
