Job Description: Cloud Platform Engineer (AWS)
We are seeking an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer with a strong background in AWS to join our team. This is a long-term contract position, expected to last over 18 months, requiring local candidates only. The role involves supporting and enhancing our cloud infrastructure, migrating legacy systems, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of our AWS environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide expert-level support for AWS services including EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
- Manage and support hybrid cloud environments, ensuring seamless connectivity between on-premises and cloud systems.
- Lead and execute strategies for migrating legacy systems to AWS.
- Develop and implement modernization roadmaps for our cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across networking, identity management, and infrastructure layers.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployment practices.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Utilize automation tools such as Ansible for system management and configuration.
- Ensure strong adherence to AWS IAM policies and role-based access control best practices.
- Identify and implement cost optimization strategies and contribute to FinOps practices.
What Were Looking For:
- 6+ years of experience working with AWS in enterprise environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with EC2, VPC, IAM, and S3.
- Proven ability to support hybrid cloud environments connecting on-prem and cloud systems.
- Demonstrated experience migrating legacy systems to AWS and building modernization roadmaps.
- Solid troubleshooting skills across networking, identity, and infrastructure layers.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
- Strong documentation skills and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Experience with Ansible or other automation tools.
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM and role-based access control.
- Exposure to cost optimization and FinOps practices.
