About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Lead Java Developer with extensive experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Angular to join our fully remote team. This is a contract-to-hire position with a 6-month duration, offering the potential for conversion to a full-time role. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of overall IT experience, with at least 2 years specifically in Angular 8+ and 4+ years in implementing REST services using Java. You will be responsible for leading a feature track, mentoring junior engineers, and contributing to the development of robust applications in an Agile environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a feature track, guiding the development process and ensuring timely delivery of features.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality Java applications, with a focus on Spring Boot and RESTful services.
  • Implement and enhance frontend components using Angular 8+.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and share knowledge.
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments.
  • Work with cloud platforms such as Kubernetes, PCF, GCP, Azure, or AWS.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices for both frontend and backend code.
  • Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • Maintain and interact with databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL.
  • Utilize software release management tools such as Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, or Rally.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Angular 8+.
  • 4+ years of experience implementing REST services with Java, preferably including Spring Boot.
  • Experience deploying to cloud platforms (Kubernetes, PCF, GCP, Azure, AWS, etc.).
  • Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) in both frontend and backend technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodology and pair programming (XP, Scrum, etc.).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins).
  • Familiarity with maintaining and interacting with databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.).
  • Capacity to lead a feature track.
  • Familiarity with software release management tools (Pivotal Tracker, JIRA, Rally, etc.).
  • Capability to mentor junior and mid-level engineer resources.
  • Must be willing to work without sponsorship in the US.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year (Estimated)
