Role Summary

This role requires strong domain expertise, technical proficiency, and the ability to guide testing projects within Agile environments. The AS400 Tester will be responsible for analyzing business requirements, performing gap analysis, creating comprehensive test strategies, and executing various types of testing.

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years of experience in AS400 testing.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, claims adjudication processes, and plan benefit setups.
  • Hands-on experience working with AS400/mainframe applications.
  • Mandatory: Experience in the U.S. Payer Claims Adjudication domain.
  • Prior experience leading testing projects.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with test management tools such as Jira, ALM, and Rally.
  • Experience with API testing using tools like SoapUI and Postman.
  • Exposure to automation testing using Selenium or Playwright.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to conduct impact analysis and provide timely resolutions or escalate appropriately.
  • Experience creating reports and dashboards for stakeholders.
  • Exposure to test strategy design, ensuring coverage for complex business scenarios.

Soft Skills

  • Result-focused and team-oriented with a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present technical details to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to prepare clear and concise materials.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Analyze business requirements and perform gap analysis for integration applications.
  2. Create comprehensive test strategies based on requirements and project scope, identifying:
    • Test objectives
    • Test assumptions
    • Test principles
    • Data approach
  3. Determine the scope and level of testing, including:
    • Exploratory testing
    • Functional testing
    • User acceptance testing
    • Finalization of test acceptance criteria, deliverables, and milestones
  4. Design test automation and execution strategies, identifying required test data and environments.
  5. Conduct walkthroughs of project deliverables with clients and obtain formal approvals.
  6. Collaborate with the team on code testing and conduct reviews of test plans, test cases, and test results.

Special Requirements

6 months duration, 6% VMS fee.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $40 – $40 per year
