Job Title: Cloud Security Architect

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Security Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and managing security solutions in AWS environments. This role requires hands-on experience with various AWS security services and a deep understanding of security best practices and frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement robust security architectures in AWS, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
• Develop and manage AWS Landing Zones, Security Policies (SCPs), and security guardrails to enforce organizational security policies.
• Configure and manage AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles, policies, and permissions to ensure least privilege access.
• Implement and manage AWS security services such as GuardDuty, CloudTrail, WAF, Security Hub, and Inspector.
• Oversee EC2 security, including instance hardening, encryption, and secure communication protocols.
• Integrate AWS security tools with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems for centralized logging and monitoring.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and manage remediation efforts using tools like Nessus, Qualys, or similar.
• Implement and manage Web Application Firewalls (WAF), firewall policies, Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and network segmentation strategies.
• Ensure security of containerized environments (EKS) and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Advise on and implement database security best practices for Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata on AWS.
• Stay current with emerging security threats and technologies, and proactively update security measures.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure security is integrated into the entire software development lifecycle.
• Participate in security reviews, risk assessments, and secure deployment practices.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior security team members.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven expertise in AWS Security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, WAF, Security Hub, Inspector).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing AWS Landing Zones, SCPs, and security guardrails.
• In-depth knowledge of EC2 security, encryption, and identity federation.
• Experience with SIEM integration with AWS security tools.
• Proficiency in vulnerability assessment and remediation tools (Nessus, Qualys, Burp Suite).
• Strong understanding of WAF, firewall policies, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation.
• Experience with EKS security, container security, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Knowledge of database security for Oracle, SQL Server, and Exadata on AWS.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust, CIS, NIST, and ISO security frameworks.
• Strong experience in security architecture, risk assessment, and secure deployment practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:

• This is an onsite position in Irvine, CA.
• The pay rate is $60-$65/hr on a C2C basis.
