Role Overview:
Empower Professionals Inc. is seeking a skilled C++ Embedded Systems Lead Developer for a long-term remote contract position. This role requires strong proficiency in C++ for embedded/edge systems and experience with containerization technologies like Docker on edge devices. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Big Data technologies, Java development for data pipelines, container orchestration, and AWS services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development efforts for C++ embedded/edge systems.
- Implement containerization solutions (Docker) on edge devices.
- Develop data pipeline applications using Java.
- Utilize Big Data technologies such as Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, and Spring Cloud Data Flow.
- Deploy and manage applications using Kubernetes.
- Work with AWS services including S3 and Athena.
- Understand and apply IoT communication protocols like MQTT and CoAP.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure smooth project execution and delivery.
Technical Skills Required:
- C++ Development: 6+ years of experience, specifically for embedded/edge systems.
- Containerization: Docker experience on edge devices.
- Big Data Technologies: Apache Kafka, Apache Flink, Spring Cloud Data Flow, streaming data architectures.
- Java Development: Building data pipeline applications.
- Container Orchestration: Kubernetes deployment and management (preferred).
- AWS Services: S3, Athena, AWS data ecosystem (working knowledge).
- IoT Protocols: MQTT, CoAP, or similar.
Contract Details:
- Duration: 12+ months, with potential for extension.
- Location: Remote.
- Client Location: Reading PM.
Compensation:
- Pay Range: $40 – $55 per hour.
- Actual compensation will be based on experience and interview evaluation.
