Job Title: SRE/DevOps Engineer

This is a contract position for an SRE/DevOps Engineer, with potential locations in Sunnyvale, CA, or Austin, TX. Experience with Apple is mandatory.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled SRE/DevOps Engineer with a strong background in cloud infrastructure and automation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, and various DevOps tools.

Must-Have Skills:

  • Kubernetes, Kustomize, Flux, CRDs: Deep understanding and practical experience with Kubernetes and its ecosystem.
  • AWS Components: Proficiency in EKS, ELB, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, CloudWatch.
  • Python, Github, Linux: Strong scripting skills in Python, version control with Github, and Linux system administration.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk for system monitoring and analysis.
  • Infrastructure Design: Knowledge of TLS and SSL for secure infrastructure.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Apache Spark, Flink, Kafka, Trino: Familiarity with big data and streaming technologies.
  • HAP Roxy Services: Experience with HAP Roxy for load balancing is beneficial.
  • DevOps Security: Understanding of security best practices within a DevOps environment.

Key Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in DevOps practices using AWS (EKS, ELB, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS, CloudWatch), Kubernetes, Kustomize, Flux, Crossplane, CRDs, Python, Github, Kafka, Linux, and Trino.
  • Solid experience with core Kubernetes fundamentals, including deployments and troubleshooting.
  • DevOps experience and understanding pertaining to data platform aspects, including integration and operation of Apache services (Kafka, Trino, Superset, Airflow, Spark, Jupyter notebooks, Ranger).
  • Proficient in Python coding, including packaging and deploying Python code to EKS.
  • Strong experience in monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • High traffic application performance monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure high availability.
  • Tracking key metrics and understanding load balancing.
  • Good understanding of SSL/TLS handshake processes.
  • Experience with EKS cluster upgrade processes.
  • Proficient in using GitHub for version control.
  • Experience with HAP Roxy services for load balancing algorithms (high traffic websites, Microservices, API Gateways), and server health checks is beneficial.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $120,000 – $180,000 per year (Estimated)
