Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst with a strong background in Finance to join our team. This role is crucial for bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, particularly within the banking and financial services industry. You will be responsible for analyzing complex financial processes, identifying areas for improvement, and translating business requirements into functional specifications for system enhancements and implementations.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and document current state business processes related to loans, deposits, treasury, GL accounting, and financial controls.
- Gather, define, and document business requirements for new features, system enhancements, and integrations.
- Develop functional specifications, user stories, and process flows to clearly communicate requirements to development and testing teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across finance, operations, and IT to ensure alignment and successful project delivery.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings to elicit and validate requirements.
- Support the testing process, including UAT, by developing test cases and assisting end-users.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency gains within financial operations.
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and are implemented effectively.
- Provide support for financial or core banking systems, troubleshooting issues and recommending solutions.
- Utilize BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau to create reports and dashboards for financial analysis and decision-making.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Financial Analyst in the banking or financial services industry.
- Solid understanding of banking processes including loans, deposits, treasury, GL accounting, and financial controls.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Business Intelligence (BI) tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
- Experience working with financial or core banking systems.
Preferred
- Experience with SQL or other analytics languages.
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks such as Basel III, CECL, FFIEC, ALM.
- Familiarity with data governance principles and financial data modeling within regulated environments.
- Experience supporting digital banking initiatives, core system upgrades, or finance transformation projects.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $100,000 – $150,000 per year
