Job Description: FPGA Engineer
Concord IT Systems is seeking an experienced FPGA Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity in Irvine, CA. This role involves RTL coding, simulation, implementation, and hardware bring-up, contributing to the development of cutting-edge technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Document and analyze design requirements for implementation.
- Perform RTL coding, simulation, and implementation.
- Handle pin assignment based on hardware design.
- Keep HW/SW interface documents up-to-date.
- Develop interface and control logics for serial buses (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Develop control algorithms for motor driver circuits.
- Develop control algorithms for analog front-end circuits.
- Conduct hardware bring-up and troubleshooting.
- Support firmware and system integration and test.
- Apply risk, failure analysis, and root cause analysis as required within the engineering discipline.
- Ensure all design activities and documents meet regulatory and QMS requirements.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient with FPGA design and workflow, familiar with mainstream FPGAs and development tools.
- Good RTL coding practices, familiar with both VHDL and Verilog.
- Familiar with embedded interface protocols development (I2C, SPI, UART).
- Sufficient knowledge of electronics principles and circuits design, familiar with schematics design tools.
- Proficient with lab instruments for measurement and troubleshooting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Show high initiative and collaboration, be self-motivated, and have the ability to act independently on technical matters.
