Job Description:

The Data Modeler will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms. This role involves building and optimizing data models for Snowflake data warehouse environments, writing complex and optimized SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and analysis, and working with semi-structured data (JSON) for ingestion, parsing, and transformation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.
  • Build and optimize data models for Snowflake data warehouse environments.
  • Write complex and optimized SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and analysis.
  • Work with semi-structured data (JSON) for ingestion, parsing, and transformation.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable data models.
  • Implement best practices for data modeling, naming conventions, and documentation.
  • Optimize data structures to improve performance, scalability, and data accessibility.
  • Maintain data documentation, lineage, and metadata for enterprise datasets.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in data modeling and database design.
  • Strong expertise in SQL and relational database concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake data warehouse.
  • Experience working with JSON scripting and semi-structured data.
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema).
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Product Owners.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in Data modeling within the mortgage domain or MISMO standards is a plus.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $100 per year (Estimated)
