Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Java Solution Architect to join our client’s team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating solution architecture and high-level design documents, solution decomposition into domains, API design, creating epics and stories for developers, and managing the implementation team. This role requires a deep understanding of microservice design, RESTful APIs, software design principles, and major architecture patterns. You will play a key role in leading architecture and development solutions within an agile delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a technology vision and strategy for assigned solutions or business domains.
- Conduct solution analysis, design, planning, and implementation using a holistic approach to ensure successful strategy execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between IT and business stakeholders for the solution.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and other Architects to align product roadmaps and deliver new features.
- Present complex technical proposals to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Conduct Proof of Concepts (POCs) to evaluate new technologies and approaches.
- Lead development teams during solution implementation, translating business requirements into technical specifications.
- Work effectively across multiple projects with diverse individuals and groups.
- Promote the reuse of solutions through inner sourcing initiatives.
- Identify and leverage industry technology trends and emerging technologies, driving their adoption within the organization.
- Actively promote the company’s mission and values.
Technical Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in creating solution architecture and high-level design documents.
- Expertise in solution decomposition into domains and API design.
- Experience in creating epics and stories for development teams.
- Strong experience in managing implementation teams.
- In-depth knowledge of microservice design, including REST-based microservice APIs.
- Mastery of software design principles and major architecture patterns.
- Demonstrated pragmatic approach to leading architecture and development solutions.
- Proven track record in agile delivery and deep experience in AGILE/Lean development methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge and strong experience with AWS services.
- Good knowledge of containerization tools and technologies (e.g., RedHat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong proficiency with Java and Java frameworks (e.g., Spring, Springboot).
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB).
- Proficiency in procedural and object-oriented development.
- Good understanding of DevOps processes and CI/CD tools.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of relevant solution architecture experience.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business requirements into a clear roadmap and definition of success.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and ensure timely achievement of deadlines and outcomes.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $100 – $150 per year (Estimated)
