Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with over 10 years of expertise in Mainframe and COBOL programming. The ideal candidate will possess strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a keen focus on logical thinking to understand and translate complex requirements into effective, high-quality solutions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional capable of working independently to deliver robust mainframe applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and other relevant technologies.
- Debug and resolve issues in existing mainframe systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mainframe applications with other systems.
- Utilize Db2 for database management and CICS for transaction processing.
- Implement and leverage API usage to enhance system integrations and data exchange.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of mainframe development processes and methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Mainframe development.
- Extensive experience with COBOL programming language.
- Proven strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent logical thinking abilities to understand and implement complex requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of API usage for system integrations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Db2 database management system.
- Experience with CICS (Customer Information Control System).
- Understanding of mainframe architecture and environments.
