Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced DBA / Data Engineer to lead the migration of data from legacy systems to a new microservice-based System of Record (SOR). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data modeling, ETL processes, and database administration, with hands-on experience in Aurora PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Oracle databases. You will be responsible for designing scalable data models, ensuring data integrity, and executing migration with minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze legacy data systems, including data structures, dependencies, and quality issues
- Design and develop scalable, efficient data models aligned with microservices architecture
- Plan and execute data migration strategies (ETL: Extract, Transform, Load)
- Develop and optimize database schemas and queries (Aurora PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle)
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and business analysts to meet data requirements
- Develop scripts, stored procedures, and automation tools for migration and validation
- Monitor and optimize database performance
- Ensure data consistency, integrity, and reliability throughout migration
- Implement data validation and reconciliation processes
- Document data models, migration processes, and best practices
- Provide post-migration support and troubleshooting
- Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 12+ years of experience as a DBA and/or Data Engineer
- Strong experience in data migration projects
- Hands-on expertise with: Aurora PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle Databases
- Strong knowledge of data modeling techniques and tools
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, Shell scripting, ETL tools
- Experience with microservices architecture
- Experience with AWS or cloud-native platforms
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Compensation & Location
Salary: $70,000 – $120,000 per year (Estimated)
