Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced SAP PP/DS Solution Architect for a long-term remote contract position. The client, TCS, requires a candidate with deep, hands-on experience in SAP Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS), specifically within the S/4HANA Advanced Planning context. Candidates with only PP or QM experience will not be considered. Manufacturing or Automotive domain experience is highly preferred.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of SAP PP/DS solutions.
- Provide expert guidance on PPDS functionalities, including heuristics, optimization, and constraint-based planning.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Oversee the implementation of PPDS Setup Optimizer and BAdI enhancements.
- Ensure seamless integration of PPDS with other SAP modules and systems.
- Work within an onshore/offshore model, effectively cascading tasks and ensuring timely delivery.
- Mentor and guide junior team members.
- Contribute to E2E Supply Chain process improvements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 10-15 years of relevant experience in SAP Production Planning and Control.
- Mandatory: Strong hands-on SAP PPDS experience (not just PP or QM).
- Mandatory: Experience with at least one full PPDS implementation.
- Mandatory: Experience with PPDS Setup Optimizer implementation.
- Mandatory: Experience with PPDS BAdI enhancement.
- In-depth experience with interactive production planning, detailed scheduling, pegging, planning board, constraint-based planning, model mix planning, and multi-level scheduling/sequencing.
- Experience implementing SAP ePP/DS in an Automotive or discrete manufacturing industry is required.
- Experience with cross-location planning and automated responses to planning changes.
- Experience with multi-level constraint-based production plans, sub-daily buckets, telescopic time buckets, and time-dependent safety stock.
- Experience in Automotive manufacturing or Repetitive manufacturing industries is preferred.
- Experience with E2E Supply Chain processes (Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Inventory Management) is desired.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Exceptional social skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, information systems, or equivalent work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- APO ABAP experience is a plus.
- Experience with DSC Edition PP/DS (separate S/4HANA sidecar system) is a plus, though embedded PP/DS experience is also acceptable.

Compensation & Location
Salary: $77 – $106 per year (Estimated)
