Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented Ruby on Rails Software Engineer for a remote position. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing applications that enhance various solutions used by consumer and call center users. This role involves building new internal and user-facing applications while collaborating closely with business and technical teams. We are looking for a candidate who can take ownership of design patterns, product modules, and technical improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using Ruby on Rails, adhering to MVC architecture.
- Build full-stack web applications with a data-backed architecture.
- Work across the entire software development lifecycle, including analysis, implementation, integration, testing, debugging, and support.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers, business stakeholders, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain JavaScript/React-based front-end components to ensure a seamless user experience.
- Ensure high test coverage by implementing Test Driven Development (TDD) principles or utilizing modern testing frameworks.
- Utilize Git for version control within a collaborative team environment.
- Implement containerized applications using Docker for efficient deployment and scaling.
- Work with cloud infrastructure, specifically Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Take ownership of design patterns, product modules, and drive technical improvements within the team.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong experience in full-stack web development.
- Hands-on experience with Ruby on Rails (MVC architecture).
- Proficiency in JavaScript and React.
- Experience working with Git in a team environment.
- Experience with Docker.
- Experience with AWS.
- Ability to understand complex business requirements and propose effective technical solutions.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with Ruby on Rails development.
- Advanced experience with JavaScript / React frameworks.
- Strong SQL skills with experience in MySQL or PostgreSQL.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
