Role: Sr. Data Engineer
Digital Dhara is seeking a talented Sr. Data Engineer to join our client’s team. This role is critical for designing, developing, and maintaining robust data solutions that drive business insights. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Big Data technologies, data warehousing, and cloud platforms, with a proven ability to work with complex datasets and deliver high-quality data pipelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop Big Data / NoSQL solutions using a variety of data stores (document, column family, graph, etc.).
- Manage and optimize database systems, including storage formats, access algorithms, data management processes, administration, maintenance, replication, high availability, and encryption.
- Develop and maintain distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational & non-relational databases.
- Work with XML/JSON data formats and schema development/reuse.
- Build and maintain ETL processes for Big Data and Data Warehousing environments.
- Write efficient SQL queries and optimize their performance.
- Develop and support online transaction processing (OLTP) and online analytical processing (OLAP) systems.
- Implement and adhere to software delivery methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Agile XP, Test-Driven Development, or Waterfall.
- Design and implement infrastructure for performance, including storage integration (e.g., Nutanix).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver effective solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in data engineering and development or a related role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python (or other programming languages like PySpark/Java).
- Experience in designing and developing across one or more database management systems (e.g., HBase, Hive, GCP tools, NoSQL, BigTable, BigQuery).
- Knowledge of data modeling tools (e.g., ErStudio, ErWin).
- Experience in performance tuning of SQL queries.
- Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and application development.
- Experience in database development and support for OLTP and/or OLAP systems.
- Familiarity with software delivery methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).
- Experience with infrastructure design for performance.
- Skills: SQL, HIVE, ETL-Big Data / Data Warehousing, GCP, Big Data, PySpark.
