Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Java Developer / Fullstack Developer for a long-term contract opportunity in McLean, VA. This role requires a strong proficiency in Java 8 and Python, with extensive experience in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, and REST API development. Experience with Kafka technology, Django framework, and AI/ML integration patterns is also highly desirable. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and experience with Gradel, PyTest, and unit test automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust Java and Python applications.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and Spring MVC.
- Ensure secure application development with Spring Security.
- Integrate and manage Kafka for real-time data streaming.
- Utilize Django framework for backend development.
- Implement AI/ML integration patterns and exposure to MCP.
- Write comprehensive unit tests and automation tests using Gradel and PyTest.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
- Troubleshoot and debug complex issues.
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and team members.
Technical Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in Java 8 and Python.
- Expertise in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security.
- Solid understanding of REST API design and development.
- Experience with Kafka technology.
- Familiarity with Django framework.
- Experience with AI/ML integration patterns and MCP exposure.
- Proficiency in Gradel and PyTest for unit test automation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Additional Information

- Rate: $65/hr C2C maximum
