Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Senior Python Developer (Contractor) to maintain and build out new functionality within their party domain. This domain is one of the core domains supporting their new banking services.
Key Projects:
- Data systems to the cloud
Daily Responsibilities:
- Maintain and add features to a FastApi python based microservices
- Maintain and add functionality in a GRPC microservice
- Build and maintain REST endpoints using an SQL Alchemy ORM on Postgres
- Deploy AWS resources and debug currently deployed infrastructure
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Containerize services using Docker and deploy to Kubernetes on AWS (EKS).
- Implement and maintain search capabilities using OpenSearch (lucene based)
- Contribute to discussion on best practices for APIs, data sourcing, authorization, etc
- Mostly backend but need to know some front end knowledge- front end specific with React
Years of Experience:
3+ (based on maturity, understanding of SOLID principles, and skill level)
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in data-centric microservices and high-throughput API systems
- Knowledge of security best practices in cloud-native applications.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote team environment
