Role Summary

IT Infrastructure Engineering is deploying a real time asset tracking solution for prototype hardware shipments moving from manufacturing sites to global offices and individual recipients. The primary stack uses GPS trackers, RFID or BLE tags, and fixed anchors, integrated with customer’s asset management tools for lifecycle and ownership visibility.

This CW role will work closely with the ITIE Real Time Asset Tracking project lead to run the day-to-day operational workflows for these shipments. The focus is practical coordination and console work: preparing and tracking hardware, updating routes and zones, monitoring shipments in transit, triaging exceptions with vendors, and keeping documentation and trackers current.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source operations at manufacturing sites
  • Support maintenance of the shipping SOP for manufacturing partners, including how trackers and tags are placed in or on master cartons and inner boxes.
  • Prepare and ship pre-configured trackers and tags to manufacturing sites, including return envelopes, labels, and simple instructions for on site teams.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of which tracker and tag SKUs and serials are staged at each manufacturing site, aligned to ITIE orders and budget lines.
  • Support coordination with Corporate Security and manufacturing partners on RF/BLE certification and customs documentation for imports and exports (status tracking, document collection, basic reviews).
  • Tracking configuration and in transit monitoring
  • In the tracking platform, assist with configuration and maintenance of usage profiles and ping rates for GPS trackers and associated tags, following patterns provided by ITIE leads.
  • Help define and update geozones and journeys for shipments from manufacturing sites to Snap offices or individual recipients, including expected milestones and ETAs.
  • Monitor live journeys for in scope shipments and apply standard alerting rules for shipment departure and arrival, prolonged stops, route deviation, and geofence entry or exit events.
  • Support triage of exceptions such as missing pings, tag dissociation, or inaccurate positions by capturing details, running first line checks, and escalating to TRG, Sensolus, or ITIE engineers as appropriate.
  • Customer site enablement and run operations
  • Assist with planning trackers and tags for zone anchor enabled sites such as primary warehouses, mailrooms, and priority regional offices in scope for the program.
  • Help validate that BLE tags are reliably detected at receiving docks, mailrooms, and secure storage by running simple test shipments and documenting results.
  • Support Tech Lounge / WIO staff with the practical side of receiving real time tracked shipments: checking tracking IDs against manifests, confirming return of trackers and tags, and logging any exceptions for follow up.
  • Monitor health of the deployed tracking estate for in scope shipments (offline devices, low battery, unusual behavior) and log or escalate issues to ITIE and vendors.
  • Data, integration, and reporting support
  • Help ensure that journeys, shipment events, and tracker associations are correctly captured in the tracking platform so they can be consumed via API or webhooks into downstream asset management tools.
  • Perform light data quality checks against Oomnitza asset records to confirm that Spectacles devices from Quanta have correct serials and tracking identifiers, and that shipment state transitions match tracking and carrier events.
  • Assist in preparing simple status reports or dashboards for ITIE and Spectacles leadership on shipment volumes, exception rates, and tracker utilization, using existing templates and trackers.
  • Documentation and process
  • Keep SOPs, quick reference guides, and checklists for real time tracked shipments up to date as processes evolve, in partnership with Spectacles TPMs, manufacturing partners, and WIO leads.
  • Maintain project trackers and hardware logs, including mapping shipments back to internal POs, CapEx and OpEx lines, and Jira tickets where required.
  • Capture lessons learned and edge cases in shared docs, to improve future shipment flows and alert strategies.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in one or more of the following: IT operations or infrastructure coordination, Logistics or supply chain operations with strong data tracking, Asset management or hardware deployment support.
  • Comfortable working in web based consoles and SaaS tools, with the ability to quickly learn new platforms such as Sensolus and Oomnitza.
  • Strong attention to detail for handling shipment data, serials, and tracker IDs across multiple systems.
  • Clear written communication skills for SOP updates, shipment notes, and vendor or internal coordination.
  • Ability to work California core hours and collaborate across multiple time zones including Taiwan and EMEA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with asset tracking, IoT devices, or BLE/GPS based tracking platforms in an operations role.
  • Background working with hardware vendors, freight or logistics providers, or customs processes for international shipments.
  • Familiarity with IT asset management tools such as Oomnitza, ServiceNow, or similar systems.
  • Prior experience supporting R&D, prototype hardware, or high sensitivity IP environments.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing environment with evolving SOPs as the pilot moves into broader rollout.
