The client is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead the modernization of their 700 MHz radio system. This is a critical project aimed at replacing aging equipment and commissioning a new, advanced network to meet current and future operational requirements. The project is expected to span approximately 3 years, with contracts renewed annually. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, including 26 member cooperatives, to understand their needs and integrate new technologies.

- Purpose: Modernize GREs 700 MHz communication system by assessing current and future operational requirements, replacing aging equipment, and commissioning the network.

- Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota (local candidates preferred).
- Employment Type: C2C Contract
- Rate: Max $55/hour on C2C.
Scope of Work
Assessment & Discovery
- Assess the current 700 MHz radio system and supporting infrastructure to identify capabilities and challenges.
- Research GREs current and future operational telecommunications requirements and aspirations.
- Engage with GREs 26 member cooperatives to understand their current use of the 700 MHz network and future applications they wish to support.
- Evaluate member cooperatives current fiber assets and potential future fiber builds by member cooperatives and third-party providers.
- Collaborate with important internal and external stakeholders.
Technology Research & Vendor Selection
- Evaluate technologies suitable to support future system requirements with an emphasis on 700MHz solutions.
- Conduct vendor and technical evaluations and provide recommendations.
- GRE currently uses Ubiik Mimomax equipment but is interested in exploring additional vendor options and lessons learned from other users.
Installation and Commissioning
- Installation and commissioning of new radio and network equipment.
Program Manager Requirements
- Extensive telecommunications experience.
- Experience supporting communications systems for utilities.
- Knowledge of RF systems, communications networks, and tower infrastructure.
- Proven financial management experience.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Special Requirements
Local candidates preferred, Contract for 1 year at a time, 3 Year project
Compensation & Location
Salary: $55 – $55 per year
