About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Quality Engineer (QE) with strong expertise in Playwright to join our team. This is an onsite position in Charlotte, NC, requiring local candidates only. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining end-to-end test automation frameworks, integrating them into CI/CD pipelines, and leveraging AI-based tools to accelerate test creation and maintenance. You will play a crucial role in enhancing our quality engineering processes and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Automation & Framework Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust end-to-end test automation frameworks using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Develop scalable and reusable test scripts for both web and API testing.
  • Integrate test suites seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins).
  • AI Enhanced Quality Engineering: Utilize AI-based tools (e.g., Testim, Mabl, Functionize, AutoGPT, Copilot/Gemini) to expedite test creation and maintenance.
  • Explore and implement AI capabilities for test case generation, log analysis, defect clustering, and intelligent test selection/impact analysis.
  • Contribute to the adoption of AI frameworks to improve predictive quality and shorten validation cycles.
  • Quality Assurance: Define comprehensive test scenarios, edge cases, and regression coverage.
  • Conduct thorough functional, regression, cross-browser, and performance validations.
  • Participate actively in code reviews and establish best practices for automation.
  • Track defects, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate with development teams for timely resolution.

Technical Skills Required:

  • 10+ years of experience in QA automation.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Playwright.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with REST API testing (e.g., Postman, Playwright API).
  • Experience with AI-assisted testing tools or LLM-based automation assistance.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions.
  • Understanding of version control systems like Git, GitLab, or GitHub.
  • Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to test management tools like JIRA, Xray, or Zephyr.
  • Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., Lighthouse, k6, JMeter) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS).
  • Relevant certifications in QA automation or AI testing tools are beneficial.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $70 – $94 per year (Estimated)

Location: Charlotte, NC
