About the Role:

TechSource Inc is looking for a JAMS Automation Engineer to join our team. This is a contract position with multiple potential onsite locations across the US. The role focuses on automating repeatable processes in client’s public cloud and on-premise data center environments to enhance process efficiencies. You will be responsible for developing, documenting, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing automation workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, and validate PowerShell scripts as part of automation workflows and maintain them in source control for change management.
  • Create and Maintain a Dynamic Inventory of all JAMS Scheduler Jobs.
  • Monitor, manage, and maintain databases to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Create and monitor Azure SQL Elastic Jobs for automated database tasks.
  • Create and maintain a JAMS incident tracker for logging dates and times of all warnings and errors from JAMS Scheduler Jobs, including escalation and fix details.
  • Update Job properties (Schedules, Source Code etc.) as directed by Job owners.
  • Proactively review and monitor the health of all JAMS Jobs, including daily review of job outputs.
  • Review job failures and take corrective action where possible or escalate to Job owner as necessary.
  • Log Service Desk tickets (incidents) for all JAMS Scheduler Job failures, provide resolution in collaboration with job owners, and maintain an incident resolution log/knowledge base.
  • Perform installation of JAMS Client tools, JAMS software updates, and/or reporting tools.
  • Liaise with JAMS account representatives and Client procurement regarding JAMS Scheduler annual support license renewals.
  • Participate in IT projects, responsible for the development of automation workflows outlined in the Project Plan and directed by the Project Manager.
  • Build, administer, monitor, and maintain JAMS Enterprise Scheduler and System Center Orchestrator environments.
  • Work with Application team members to evaluate automation workflow needs and requirements.
  • Develop integrations between infrastructure systems for data analysis and reporting through REST API calls.
  • Maintain the JAMS platform, standard operating procedures, perform changes, and apply patches and updates as required.
  • Prevent, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve automation runbook errors.
  • Maintain strict change control of the automation infrastructure.
  • Continuously identify and report areas of improvement in the automation arena and implement improvements when approved.
  • Contribute to ongoing research and evaluation of new technologies.
  • Perform other work requirements or tasks requested by IT management to meet department or company goals and objectives.
  • Work continuously on a task until completion to ensure business automation workflows remain available 24/7.
  • Establish a good working relationship with customers and other IT groups.

Technical Qualifications:

  • Excellent technical skills including Microsoft Operating Systems server 2012-2019, PowerShell scripting, Microsoft SQL Server 2012-2025, Microsoft Azure (including Logic Apps, JSON Scripting, REST API, Azure Cloud Databases).
  • Experience with Azure SQL databases (e.g., Maia DB, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB, MongoDB) is required.
  • Experience with JAMS Enterprise Manager is highly desirable and preferable.
  • Experience with Elastic Job Agent for Azure SQL Databases is preferable.
  • Experience with System Center Orchestrator 2012 or later is preferred.
  • Azure or AWS Certification is desirable.

General Qualifications:

  • Strong background in an Infrastructure or Cloud Technology environment with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.
  • Very strong problem-solving and analytical skills; a systemic thinker with attention to detail.
  • Committed to continuous learning and expanding knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to work independently within established policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine tasks unsupervised.

Education Requirements:

A degree in Information Technology is desirable.
