Job Role: Cloud Architect

We are looking for a Cloud Architect with experience in the Energy & Utilities domain. The role involves architecting solutions for customer-facing applications, focusing on areas like customer data, grid integration, customer experience, and demand management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect solutions involving REST/SOAP APIs, ESB, Microservices, and Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Define data integration, event-driven architectures, and API strategies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to translate business requirements into technical architecture.
  • Lead design reviews and governance forums, providing technical leadership to development teams.
  • Ensure compliance with energy regulatory requirements and implement data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Define audit, logging, and monitoring strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of IT experience.
  • 5+ years in Architecture roles.
  • Strong experience in Energy & Utilities domain.
  • Experience in system integration and enterprise architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of API design and cloud-native architectures.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills.

Domain Expertise (Energy & Utilities):

  • Customer onboarding & service requests
  • Meter-to-cash process
  • Billing & invoicing
  • Tariff & rate configuration
  • Credit & collections
  • Regulatory compliance
  • Understanding of electricity, gas, or water utility operations.

Technology & Integration:

  • REST/SOAP APIs, ESB, Microservices
  • Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)
  • Data modeling & ETL
  • DevOps & CI/CD
  • Security & IAM

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners.
  • Translate business requirements into technical architecture.
  • Lead design reviews and governance forums.
  • Provide technical leadership to development teams.

Compliance & Security:

  • Ensure compliance with energy regulatory requirements.
  • Implement data privacy and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Define audit, logging, and monitoring strategies.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with digital transformation programs.
  • TOGAF or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in large-scale utility modernization programs.

Additional Information:

This is a contract position with a duration of 4-6 months. The role requires 3 days onsite in San Roman, CA. The ideal candidate has previous Energy & Utilities domain experience and has worked on customer-side applications.

Compensation & Location

Salary: $75 – $75 per year
