Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Epic Ambulatory Application Support professional for an onsite role in California, MD, requiring 3 days onsite per week. This role involves supporting the Epic Ambulatory application, managing service desk tickets, optimization requests, and assisting with project build.
Mandatory Areas / Must Have Skills
- Epic Ambulatory certification and experience – Expert
- Epic HealthyPlanet/Compass Rose experience – Advanced
- Epic Kaleidoscope/Bones experience – Advanced
- Experience with Epic Wisdom, Bones, Kaleidoscope, Healthy Planet, MyChart, EpicCare Link, and Compass Rose is also desired.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on Service Desk Tickets and optimization requests.
- Assist with project build and other assigned duties.
- Assess and optimize system designs through review and analysis of user needs.
- Customize systems through system design and configuration to meet changing business needs.
- Coordinate and lead workflow design discussions, documentation of workflows, build & configuration, testing of the system, and analyze all associated issues.
- Develop, document, and facilitate execution of governance processes between business stakeholders and IT teams.
- Coordinate with City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) department subject matter experts, DPH IT, and third-party vendors to ensure the data movement framework is built and configured to meet project milestones and timelines.
- Create and execute project plans, estimate timeframes, outline specific tasks, and identify resources needed to complete projects on schedule and within budget.
- Monitor progress to keep projects on track by conducting regular project meetings and following up with areas that need assistance.
- Analyze data processing needs; research and evaluate software on multiple platforms to assist users in meeting their departmental goals.
- Troubleshoot software problems through telephone and site visit support; provide technical assistance in planning, engineering, and architecture of unique systems for diverse applications; implement solutions to problems.
- Conduct user training and develop user training materials.
- Create, update, and maintain project documentation materials.
- May install and maintain software; facilitate communication between clients and vendors regarding system maintenance issues.
- Test and modify software for network compatibility; participate in the detail design and development of new applications.
- Update system software and make modifications to system configurations; facilitate data communication between systems platforms.
- Participate and represent the department in computer users meetings or meetings of related committees.
- Create and generate reports and statistics to meet user and program requirements.
- Conduct database systems analysis and designs; may perform data normalization tasks.
- Develop the testing of integration solutions (including data validation).
- Schedule and facilitate status, build and testing meetings, and other activities as required.
- Lead the development of written testing plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Lead the integration and functional testing between designated systems and the Epic EHR to identify, isolate, and document defects found during testing.
- Participate in data file manipulation, staging, testing, and validation activities.
- Work closely with EMR integration product managers to ensure deadlines are met, provide status updates, and escalate issues.
- Manage the resolution of outstanding issues before and after project go-live events.
- Maintain, publish, and disseminate technical reference manual and other integration solutions documentation.
- Build in-house DPH technical capacity and provide knowledge transfer before contract completion.
- Share responsibilities for support of the Epic Ambulatory application, including resolving system issues, completing report build, completing project build efforts, attending team meetings, participating in integrated testing efforts, and other support and maintenance responsibilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Mastery of the Epic Ambulatory application.
- Current Epic Ambulatory application certification.
- Familiarity of all phases of clinical application implementation are required including discovery, validation, workflow and process design, application build, application testing, integrated testing, end-user training, go-live, optimization, maintenance, and upgrade.
- Project management experience in a multi-stakeholder healthcare organization implementing projects of high complexity.
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of Epic EHR implementation experience
- Epic Ambulatory Certification, and current CEE.
- Experience of Epic Reporting Workbench
- Specialty experience/certifications such as Wisdom, Bones, Kaleidoscope, Healthy Planet, MyChart, EpicCare Link, and Compass Rose.
- Communication experience for strategic and tactical deployments
- Experience with Epic integrated projects
Special Requirements
Onsite – 3 days per week. Must have Epic Amb certification and experience. Experience with Epic HealthyPlanet/Compass Rose, Kaleidoscope/Bones, Wisdom, MyChart, EpicCare Link desired.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $70 – $100 per year
