Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Manual Tester with extensive experience in defect management and a strong background in Capital Markets. This is a critical role requiring meticulous attention to detail and the ability to ensure the quality of complex web applications within the financial sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive manual testing across the entire software development lifecycle, including test planning, design, execution, and defect management.
- Validate complex web applications, ensuring they meet functional requirements and quality standards.
- Collaborate closely with development teams and stakeholders to identify, document, and track defects through to resolution.
- Develop and execute detailed test cases and test scripts based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Conduct backend validation using PL/SQL to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
- Participate actively in Agile Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Utilize Jira for test management, defect tracking, and workflow management.
- Communicate effectively with global, distributed Agile teams to ensure seamless collaboration and understanding of testing progress and issues.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven expertise in manual testing methodologies and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of defect management processes and tools.
- Strong understanding of Capital Markets domain, including trade lifecycle, order management, market data, settlements, and regulatory processes.
- Proficiency in PL/SQL for backend database validation.
- Hands-on experience with Agile Scrum frameworks.
- Experience using Jira for test management and defect tracking.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, distributed team environment.
Secondary Skills:
- Basic experience with automation testing tools such as Selenium Python.
- Familiarity with NAV (Net Asset Value), fund accounting, and other capital market processes.
Location and Duration:
- Location: North Quincy, MA
- Work Arrangement: Day 1 Onsite
- Duration: 12+ months contract
