Job Summary
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Assurance Analyst to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibility of this role is to rigorously test technical solutions, identify and document defects, usability issues, and any other anomalies before their release to end-users. You will act as a quality advocate, empowering development teams to build high-performing and resilient systems through a combination of automated and manual testing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive testing of technical solutions to identify and report bugs, usability issues, and other defects.
- Act as a quality champion, promoting best practices and empowering teams to create high-performing and resilient systems.
- Leverage both automated and manual testing techniques to ensure thorough coverage of all functionalities.
- Collaborate closely with the development team to promptly report issues and ensure features are thoroughly tested.
- Partner with development teams to identify and assess key areas of risk in new solutions.
- Communicate detailed defect information to the development team and assist the IT Product Manager in prioritizing defects.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies, providing clarifications and collaborating on problem-solving with the team.
- Continuously improve testing processes by automating and maintaining comprehensive test suites.
- Execute tests in production environments post-deployment to verify quality and stability.
- Understand the product vision and work with Business Analysts and IT Product Managers to translate this vision into effective test cases.
- Stay current with industry best practices and standards in software testing.
- Foster teamwork and communication to create an interactive, cooperative, collaborative, and customer-focused work environment.
- Complete annual and semiannual self-assessments as required.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related technical field, OR equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of QA testing experience across multiple platforms and testing techniques, including manual acceptance testing, exploratory testing, and creative testing.
- 5 years of experience in manual acceptance testing, exploratory testing, and creative testing.
- 5 years of experience implementing automated end-to-end tests using frameworks and tools such as Selenium or similar.
- 5 years of experience with the Microsoft Office Suite.
- 4 years of strong experience testing using Agile Methodologies and participating in agile ceremonies.
- 4 years of experience running tests in production environments after deployment.
- 4 years of experience collaborating effectively with Development Teams.
- 4 years of experience with any Project Management tool such as MS DevOps or Jira.
- 4 years of experience with JavaScript.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze software systems to identify existing and potential issues.
- Ability to develop integration, performance, and load-bearing tests.
- Excellent organizational skills, detail-orientation, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under limited time constraints with minimal supervision.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and interact diplomatically with business professionals and staff.
- Demonstrated respectful behavior and promotion of teamwork and communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to process complex information and clearly articulate test results, issues, and recommendations.
- Willingness to present alternative viewpoints in team settings.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience as a tester on cross-functional agile teams.
Physical Demands
- Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Sedentary work involving sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional movement within the office.
- Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor.
