Job Description: Java API Developer – Banking Domain
We are looking for a highly skilled Java API Developer with extensive experience in the banking domain to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. This is a 6-12+ Months Contract-to-Hire (C2H) position where you will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying robust API solutions. The ideal candidate possesses 10+ years of experience in Java EE, REST API, and Springboot development, with a strong understanding of API security, microservices, and cloud platforms like Azure.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain end-to-end features for a complex online banking platform.
- Implement and deploy API solutions, demonstrating expertise in cloud computing, API design, and development.
- Ensure technical designs are clear, well-thought-out, and consider dependencies, failure states, maintainability, testability, and ease of support.
- Contribute to the architecture of the banking platform, focusing on migrating microapps to Azure cloud.
- Make design and coding decisions with a customer experience focus.
- Conduct code reviews to provide guidance on engineering best practices and compliance with development procedures.
- Ensure all aspects of product development adhere to compliance and security best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of experience in Java EE design and development (Java 8 preferred but not mandatory).
- 10+ years of experience in REST API & Springboot design and development.
- Knowledge of API security risks and microservices resilience.
- Good to have GraphQL implementation knowledge.
- Experienced in Git, Jira, Jenkins, and test automation.
- Experience with microservices architecture and cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in the banking or financial services domain is essential.
