Job Description
The Lead Cobol Developer will be responsible for leading development efforts in COBOL and other mainframe technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of software design patterns, development principles, and data modeling. The ideal candidate will have experience with Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated functional testing, as well as knowledge of secure coding practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of COBOL programs and mainframe applications.
- Apply knowledge of software design patterns, development, data modeling, and SOLID principles.
- Implement and promote Test Driven Development (TDD) and automated functional testing.
- Ensure adherence to secure coding practices and identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
- Utilize source management tools such as GIT and TFS for version control.
- Resolve architectural problems related to scalability, performance, reliability, usability, and security.
Additional Beneficial Experience
- Experience with Agile methodology, Jira, and Confluence.
- Proficiency in scripting and DevOps practices, including CI/CD processes and containerization.
- Interest in or experience within the financial industry.
A successful candidate will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, strong communication skills, and a motivation to achieve best-in-class results.
Special Requirements
Onsite role. Financial industry interest and/or experience is beneficial. Agile methodology, Jira and/or confluence experience is beneficial. DevOps practices including CI/CD processes, containerization is beneficial.
Compensation & Location
Salary: $60 – $80 per year (Estimated)
Location: Lincoln, NE
