Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. This role requires a deep understanding of PostgreSQL internals, clustering, and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various PostgreSQL tools and monitoring stacks. This is an onsite position requiring local candidates only.
- Postgres Internals: Deep understanding of WAL (Write-Ahead Logging), MVCC, Autovacuum tuning, and memory architecture ($shared_buffers$, $work_mem$).
- Clustering: Proven hands-on experience with repmgr for automated failover and cluster management.
- Tooling: Proficiency with standard tools like pg_dump, pg_restore, pg_basebackup, and pg_upgrade.
- Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of GCP (Google Cloud Platform) or Microsoft Azure database services.
- Infrastructure as Code: (Preferred) Experience automating deployments with Ansible or Terraform.
- Observability: Familiarity with monitoring stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, or pgAdmin.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience as a PostgreSQL DBA.
- Strong knowledge of database architecture and performance tuning.
- Experience with cloud database services (GCP or Azure).
- Proficiency in using database administration and monitoring tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
